In his address at the event, Ranginui will share his experiences from young teacher to university professor and social leader and will reflect on the impact of his work on Māori-Pākehā relations and the recognition of Māori as the indigenous people of Aotearoa.

Around 430 are expected to attend the dinner in a large marquee on Old Government House lawn including politicians and leading figures in the community, business and the professions.
