John “JT” Templeton has been named New Zealand’s sexiest single man after being announced as the Cleo Bachelor of the Year last night.
The 26 year old fitness trainer says he was put forward for the competition by a friend and had no expectations of winning it. He beat 12 other finalists and received over 12,000 votes to win his title.
JT had always been a relatively fit guy and in 2003 he joined the army at the age of 17 where he discovered his passion for fitness. He trained for 7 years of service with the army including a 6 month stint in East Timor. Upon his return he decided to become a physical training instructor and got top honours in his class in the process.
He left the army in 2009 to pursue his love for fitness training and now co-owns Mount CrossFit – an elite performance training center located in the beautiful coastal town of Mount Maunganui.
John plans to help others succeed in fitness and life through CrossFit. CrossFit is more than going to the gym. It is a lifestyle suited for success.
He names Arnold Schwarznegger as his biggest role model for being able to “achieve pretty big things in his life”. JT has described the win as “pretty epic”. You can find him featured as “Mr August” in the Cleo calendar.
