Today an agreement will be signed between Massey University and Te Wānanga o Aotearoa in a bid to provide more tertiary opportunities for Māori students.
Massey’s deputy vice chancellor Sir Mason Durie says the agreement has been a year in the making.
Te Wānanga boss Bentham Ohia wants to help lift the performance of Māori, which in turn will benefit New Zealand as a whole.
Sir Mason says the deal will benefit students across all three campuses in Albany, Palmerston North and Wellington, and will maximise resources.
