Parris Goebel takes on the world
One of South Auckland’s own top choreographers has been contacted to team up with Jennifer Lopez.
J-Lo, 42, announced a tour of the Northern hemisphere and was put on to Parris Goebel by her dancer boyfriend Casper Smart, 24.

Lopez was shown videos of the talented 20 year old performing on youtube. Having created and captained the all girls dance crew ReQuest who won over countless fans with their unique performances on America’s Best Dance crew season 6, Goebel now owns two dance studios, one in Penrose and the other in Hamilton.
Goebel’s father and manager Brett Goebel says his daughter’s career took off after forming the nine female dance crew in 2007. She had a love for dance at the age of 3 and at the age of 14 discovered her passion for hip hop dance genre.
Goebel met with Lopez on the 20th of April and has started working with her. Brett Goebel says according to his daughter, Lopez is lovely and “down to earth”.
“She said she’s passionate about music and dance. And she said Jennifer’s key thing is people enjoy themselves when they hear her music.”
Fairfax reports that Goebel will be in Los Angeles for two months before she jetsets to Rome for hip hop teaching and then Las Vegas later in the year for the world hip hop championships.
She is definitely on her way to achieving her goal of being one of the world’s leading choreographers.
